David is the newest partner in the firm, having joined in January, 2011. He has been engaged in the practice of law for more than 30 years. Mr. Lewis started his career as a Clark County deputy prosecuting attorney in 1976, and was quickly elevated to the post of Chief Deputy in charge of prosecuting serious felony cases. The felony cases he handled resulted in convictions more than 95% of the time. Mr. Lewis has over 30 years of litigation experience handling criminal and civil bench and jury trials. He represented Child Protective Services for 10 years, protecting children who had been victims of abuse and neglect. He has been the system attorney for a $100 Million company for more than 28 years. He is a 1973 graduate of Indiana University and a 1976 graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. Mr. Lewis is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the state of Indiana, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

When Clark County’s judges needed to hire an attorney in a governmental dispute involving statutory interpretation, they selected Mr. Lewis who secured a summary judgment in their favor at trial and helped successfully defend the trial court’s decision on appeal to the Indiana Supreme Court. Mr. Lewis has represented the Clark County Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals, the City of Charlestown, the Jeffersonville Redevelopment Commission, the Jeffersonville Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals, the North Clark Healthcare Foundation, the Watson Water Company, New Hope Services, Inc., the Clark County welfare department, and other smaller, but equally important, governmental agencies, corporations and limited liability companies. He has extensive experience in municipal and government law, corporate law, and appellate law.
